In the development of new housing, the council may enter into a legal agreement sometimes known as a S106 Agreement.
This formal agreement will be held by the council's planning department and will outline how the affordable housing on the development will be allocated. This can stipulate local connection criteria such as current or past residence, close family currently resident or employment. It may not require a household to establish a housing need as outlined in the overarching Keyways Housing Allocation Scheme.
It is therefore important for all our customers to declare any connection to a prescribed list of areas on page 13 of the application form (Local Connection).
In addition to the prescribed list of areas, some agreements may permit allocations to a household from an adjoining parish. Please see a list of these below. Should you have a connection to any of the adjoining parishes listed in column A then you should choose the legal agreement area in column B on the housing application form.
The application form has a free text box for all applicants to state clearly what their connection is and to which legal agreement area or adjoining parish. It is important for our customers to provide this information in full to prevent any delay in assessing your application or your eligibility to bid on certain properties.
